For six years, I have been living in a "monastery." Before that, I had many adventures in life, including romantic ones. And not that I'm an expert—my specialty was toxic relationships and emotions—but there’s one piece of advice I can give you, gentlemen:
Cooking and serving a good dinner for a woman is very sexy.
I know this because it's the only reason my last fiancée was with me. Which was quite exhausting after coming home from 12 hours of cooking.
From my best Valentine’s menu:
PEARS WITH SESAME CREAM
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 ripe, soft pears
- 3 tablespoons (50g) tahini
- 2–3 tablespoons (50–70g) date paste
- 30g walnuts
- 2–3 teaspoons lime juice
PREPARATION:
Pour a small amount of hot water over the dates (just enough to cover them) and let them cool. Blend into a paste.
Chop the walnuts and mix with the date paste, tahini, and lime juice.
Cut the pears in half lengthwise, scoop out the core, and fry them on a dry pan for a few minutes on each side until they soften and start releasing juice.
Remove the pears from the pan and fill them with the prepared stuffing.
VARIATIONS:
- Instead of dates, you can use figs—fresh or dried.
- You can also add a teaspoon of sesame oil and sesame seeds to the filling.
- Other dried fruits and nuts work well too. Salted peanuts create an interesting effect if you like sweet-salty combinations like salted caramel.
NOTES:
- The pears can also be prepared in the oven.
SERVING:
Serve immediately after preparation, still warm, garnished with pomegranate seeds.
